David Phelps lights up the world whenever he sings. Too bad people can’t appreciate singers putting their own touch to a song without being condemning. David is one of the most beautiful people inside that you would ever meet and I’m sure he has the highest regard for the original singer. I’m not familiar with him or the song but I’m sure I would enjoy both performances of the song

Great song - I never saw the video before!

Lyle, the old gentleman crying was Rusty’s big brother, Howard, Tanya’s uncle. The family formed a gospel group that included Howard, his wife, Vestal, Sam, the middle brother and Rusty. They were very popular especially in the 60’s and early 70’s.❤

This song was written by Tanya's father, Russ, who was Howard's, the guy who was very emotional, brother. Good song and lyrics!!

Amazing and beautiful

The lady sitting to Tanya’s right in green is Suzanne Gaither Jennings the daughter of Bill and Gloria.

(Sigh) Dear Patsy always makes my heart ache. She can evoke so much emotion with just her voice. Nashville lore revealed that Patsy cried quite a bit while recording her last album in February of 1963…on “Faded Love” it’s very obvious, but you can also hear the extra tremor in her voice during “Sweet Dreams”. Unfortunately, she left us just a few weeks later. When I hear that incredible voice, knowing she never had a single voice lesson in her all too short sojourn down here, I look up at the sky and thank God for those rare gifted individuals that we’ve been blessed enough to experience musically. She was sooo amazing. Did you know she was the first woman country music artist to play at Carnegie Hall? Not too shabby for a poor little girl from Winchester, VA, huh? As always, a great reaction Dear Lyle.❤

Thank you so much for playing this! The Nelons, i feel,were truely blessed by God with their beautiful voices!! I am still so sad about their passing.but happy in knowing they are with Christ now..I have been a fan of them for at least from 1973.. back when Rex eas with the Lefevre's!!

When I was younger and would go hear the Nelons in person..you should hear when they sang Amazing grace..Rex would hit a perfect low note that seemed like it would shake you off of your seat! Rex was and always will be my favorite bass singer..!!

A few Alabama songs you might want to listen to but not do reactions for them necessarily are : Words At Twenty Paces , Red River , Down On The River on the ( Southern Star ) album , Five O'clock Five Hundred , Angels Among Us. Alabama did a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's _ Green River maybe lsiten to CCR's original then right after listen to Alabama's cover version. He is fantastic at every genre he performs. Maybe had he not gotten started with the opportunity to work with Bill Gaither and crew, he wouldn't have gotten the exposure to be able to cross the genres so easily. But his gift is truly God Given and nothing can stop the Blessings of Yeshua Jesus ! Amen

WOW!! Lyle this is fabulous. DP is such a talent. I got a little tickled because it seems we'd say, " Wow" or "Ummm" or "Yeah" or " Ooohhh" at the same time. It seems we were in sync because I chose the same superlative that you did. LOL!!! Great Minds listening to a great talent and all that!!!

I love David tremendously and his version has its many differences from that of the great John Farnham and I’m happy for that because they are both so talented in their own right that being said..John will always own this iconic song with his iconic voice!!
